Lillooet Joins the Green Highway with Electric Vehicle Charging Station

North America’s west coast roadways have become a little greener with the addition of a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Lillooet.  The community of 2500 is located 125 kilometres (78 miles) from the Olympic resort town of Whistler along the stunning Highway 99 North.  It is a popular stop for travelers from Vancouver, who complete a circular route that takes about a day and covers the rugged, mountainous beauty for which British Columbia is famous.

Canadian-owned company Sun Country, an industry leader in electric vehicle products and services, worked with the Retasket Lodge and RV Park to build and open the new charging station, which uses a simple charging nozzle to plug into an electric car. Guests at the Lodge can charge for free while others will pay a minimal fee.

The addition of Lillooet’s EV station fills the gap between existing stations in Whistler to the southwest and Kamloops to the east.
