Okotoks Starts 2015 with More Businesses and More Development

Okotoks, Alberta continues to benefit from its smart growth strategy with a 4.8 percent increase in the number of businesses licenses from 2013 to 2014. This surpassed the 3.5 percent growth from the previous year.  Factoring in businesses that were no longer operating in Okotoks, this progressive town adjacent to Calgary ended the year with a 2.3 percent net increase.  The community has experienced an impressive 32 percent increase in the number of businesses since 2007.

Okotoks Economic Development Manager Shane Olson expects the growth to continue in 2015 with new commercial and business developments currently underway, new retail space and additions to both Okotoks Business Park and the Southbank Business Park.
