Okanagan Cities Rank #1 for Best Weather

Money Sense Canada released its top 10 Canadian places for great weather with Penticton, BC and Kelowna BC coming out on top.

Penticton, with a population around 43,000, came out slightly ahead in the statistics department with a higher average temperature and fewer days of rain. Money Sense relied on new data released from Environment Canada to determine the rankings, focusing on  comfortable temperatures as well as precipitation and snowfall.

Penticton recorded an average temperature of 9.5 degrees with 129 days above the 20 degree mark.  The city receives 99 days with rain; however much of that is in place of snow during the winter. Summers are hot and dry as Penticton possesses a semi-arid climate

Located between two lakes with great beaches, Penticton is the heart of British Columbia's Okanagan wine region.

Money Sense ranked Kelowna  the commercial centre of the Okanagan region with a population of 180,000, tied for first place.
