Go Global at Brandon’s Funky Farm to Fork Market

Not only is Brandon, Manitoba at the geographic centre of North America, it is at the centre of a food and cultural revolution known as the Global Market.  This downtown market is a project of Westman Chapter of the Canadian Mental Health Association and brings together farmers, chefs, artists, musicians, buskers and the public to experience a variety of activities and events.  There is a night market and produce is even planted, grown and picked (for free!) from Incredible Edible Brandon Blue Planters.

Arts and culture are a very important part of what makes Brandon such a great place to live.  The Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium is a hub for professional, amateur musical and drama performances.  The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba showcases the work of international, national, regional and local artists and has been providing hands on art instruction for over 75 years.  Brandon University is home to the renowned School of Music and serves as a magnet for a diverse range of musical talent.

Brandon is also a business-minded city.  With a population of close to 50,000 people, it is the second-largest city in Canada’s central province of Manitoba.  In addition to its advantageous location, Brandon has a large trading area, access to major transportation systems, a skilled and dependable labour supply, low utility rates, and no municipal business tax. It continues to be one of the most affordable and family-friendly cities in Canada.
