Congratulations to Olds, Alberta for launching Canada’s first and fastest community-owned broadband fibre network. On January 29, a large crowd gathered at Olds’ state-of-the-art Trans Canada Theatre to witness the internet, television, phone and connectivity offerings of O-NET, a company owned by the volunteer-driven Olds Institute for Community and Regional Development. Kudos to Olds for investing in a one gigabyte pipeline to bring ultra high-speed connectivity and exceptional communications packages to all businesses and residents at a rate competitive with the large service providers.
