Canada Among Leading “Creative” Nations

December 16, 2015

The Martin Prosperity Institute released its 2015 edition of the Global Creativity Index, or GCI and Canada ranked fourth behind Australia, Sweden and New Zealand. The GCI is a broad-based measure for advanced economic growth and sustainable prosperity based on the 3Ts of economic development — talent, technology, and tolerance. It rates and ranks 139 nations worldwide on each of these dimensions and on our overall measure of creativity and prosperity.

Canada’s fourth place position (up three spots from its previous ranking) placed it ahead of Denmark and Finland - tied for fifth. Canada also finished in the top 10 based on percentage of “creative class” with 44 percent.  The United States ranked 34th with 33 percent.
